Matsya Purana — Manvantaras, Shloka 39

शिष्टा यस्माच्चरन्त्येनं मनुः सप्तर्षयश्च ह मन्वन्तरेषु सर्वेषु शिष्टाचारस्ततः स्मृतः //

śiṣṭā yasmāccarantyenaṃ manuḥ saptarṣayaśca ha manvantareṣu sarveṣu śiṣṭācārastataḥ smṛtaḥ //

Vì những người có văn hóa và gương mẫu thực hành điều này, và vì Manu cùng bảy vị Hiền triết (Saptarṣi) quả thật tuân theo nó trong mọi Manvantara, nên điều ấy được ghi nhớ là śiṣṭācāra—tập quán hạnh kiểm có thẩm quyền.
