Adhyaya 51 — Yaksha Injunctions: Graha-Children and Female Spirits Causing Domestic and Ritual Disruptions
चोदको नाम स प्रोक्तः पैशुन्यं कुरुते गृहे । अवध्यानगतश्चान्यः श्रवणस्थोऽतिदुर्मतिः ॥
codako nāma sa proktaḥ paiśunyaṃ kurute gṛhe | avadhāna-gataś cānyaḥ śravaṇa-stho 'tidurmatiḥ ||
Kẻ ấy được gọi là “Codaka” (kẻ xúi giục); hắn gây ra sự nói xấu sau lưng và việc truyền lời trong nội thất gia đình. Một kẻ khác, cực kỳ ác tâm, trú trong tai—kéo người ta vào sự lơ đãng, không chú tâm.

Two roots of conflict are highlighted: (1) instigation that converts private life into a field of rumor, and (2) inattentive listening that distorts understanding. Dharma in the home depends on truthful speech and careful hearing.

The ‘ear-dweller’ signifies how pramāda (carelessness) enters through the senses; when attention is lost, discernment (viveka) collapses and adharma spreads via mishearing and misreporting.
