Adhyaya 41 — Yogic Conduct and the Discipline Leading to Siddhi
सारभूतमुपासीत ज्ञानं यत्कार्यसाधकम् ।
ज्ञानानां बहुता येयं योगविघ्रकरा हि सा ॥
sārabhūtam upāsīta jñānaṃ yat kāryasādhakam | jñānānāṃ bahutā yeyaṃ yogavighrakarā hi sā ||
Nên tu dưỡng tri kiến cốt yếu—tri kiến làm thành tựu mục đích. Sự đa tạp của những thứ “tri thức” chỉ trên danh nghĩa quả thật là chướng ngại đối với yoga.

Not all information is liberating. The seeker should prioritize transformative insight over endless conceptual accumulation, which can feed pride, doubt, and distraction.
Didactic philosophical instruction (dharma/jñāna) rather than any of the five narrative marks.
‘Many knowledges’ can fragment attention; yoga requires ekāgratā (one-pointedness). Esoteric teaching here is epistemic austerity—reducing mental proliferation (prapañca).
