Adhyaya 22 — Kuvalayashva’s Death through Daitya-Deceit and Madalasa’s Self-Immolation

Sanskrit

यावदन्तर्जले देवं वरुणं यादसां पतिम् ।

वैदिकैर्वारुणैर्मन्त्रैः प्रजानां पुष्टिहेतुकैः ॥

Transliteration

yāvad antarjale devaṃ varuṇaṃ yādasāṃ patim | vaidikair vāruṇair mantraiḥ prajānāṃ puṣṭihetukaiḥ

Translation

Cho đến khi (người ấy thờ phụng) trong nước thần Varuṇa, chúa tể các loài thủy sinh, bằng các Varuṇa-mantra thuộc Veda—những thần chú là nguyên nhân của sự nuôi dưỡng và thịnh vượng của muôn dân—
