Adhyaya 2 — The Lineage of Garuda and the Birth of the Wise Birds: Kanka and Kandhara
तस्यां स जनयामास तार्क्षों नाम सुतां तदा ।
मुनिशापाग्निविप्लुष्टां वपुमप्सरसां वराम् ॥
तस्या नाम तदा चक्रे तार्क्षोमिति विहङ्गमः ॥
tasyāṃ sa janayāmāsa tārkṣoṃ nāma sutāṃ tadā |
muniśāpāgnivipluṣṭāṃ vapum apsarasāṃ varām |
tasyā nāma tadā cakre tārkṣom iti vihaṅgamaḥ ||
Rồi nơi nàng, ông sinh một con gái tên Tārkṣo. Nàng là một apsaras tuyệt mỹ, nhưng thân thể bị thiêu đốt bởi ngọn lửa của lời nguyền từ một vị hiền sĩ. Con chim ấy bèn đặt cho nàng danh hiệu “Tārkṣo”.
