Chapter 55
तस्मिन् विद्धे महेष्वासे कर्णे सर्वास्त्रकोविदे | हताश्वसूते विरथे ततोडनीकमभज्यत
tasmin viddhe maheṣvāse karṇe sarvāstrakovide | hatāśvasūte virathe tato 'nīkam abhajyata ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana nói: Khi Karṇa, đại cung thủ tinh thông mọi binh khí, bị bắn trúng, lại khi ngựa và xa phu của hắn bị giết khiến hắn đứng trơ không còn chiến xa, đội hình liền tan vỡ. Thấy bậc danh tướng bị khuất phục và chỗ nương tựa bị phá hủy, quân lính mất hết trật tự, cơn tháo chạy lan khắp đạo quân.
