Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
शूद्र मनोवांछित वस्तुएँ पाता है और ब्राह्मण इसका पाठ करे तो वह समस्त शास्त्रोंका पारंगत विद्वान होता है। जो मनुष्य तीर्थोके इस पुण्य माहात्म्यको प्रतिदिन सुनता है वह पवित्र हो पहलेके अनेक जन्मोंकी बातें याद कर लेता है और देहत्यागके पश्चात् स्वर्गलोकमें आनन्दका अनुभव करता है। भीष्म! मैंने यहाँ गम्य और अगम्य सभी प्रकारके तीर्थोंका वर्णन किया है ।। मनसा तानि गच्छेत सर्वतीर्थसमी क्षया । एतानि वसुभि: साध्यैरादित्यैर्मरुदश्विभि:
manasā tāni gacchet sarvatīrthasamīkṣayā | etāni vasubhiḥ sādhyair ādityair marud-aśvibhiḥ ||
Pulastya nói: “Chỉ bằng tâm ý, người ta cũng có thể đến những bến thánh (tīrtha) ấy, và đạt trọn công đức như đã hành hương khắp mọi tīrtha. Những thánh địa này được chư thần Vasus, Sādhyas, Ādityas, Maruts và Aśvins tôn kính và nâng đỡ. Hỡi Bhīṣma, tại đây ta đã thuật đủ mọi loại tīrtha—cả nơi dễ đến lẫn nơi khó tới.”
