घुलस्त्य उवाच
That disciplined pilgrimage—undertaken in the prescribed order and completed with proper ritual bathing—generates great religious merit, here equated with the highly valued charity of donating a thousand cows.
The speaker is listing tīrthas and their respective fruits. Here, the instruction is to go to the tīrtha named ‘Gavāṁ Bhavanam’ and perform abhiṣeka (sacred bathing), which is said to yield gosahasra-phala, the merit of a thousand cow-gifts.
