Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that disciplined devotion—specifically fasting and staying a night at a sacred Śaiva site—can transform one’s spiritual standing, emphasizing the ethical power of self-restraint (tapas) and reverence toward the divine.

The speaker describes a pilgrimage instruction: after reaching the place called Muñjavaṭa, associated with Śiva (Sthāṇu), one should observe a one-night fast/vigil there; the promised fruit is attaining gāṇapatya, i.e., entry into Śiva’s gaṇa as a divine attendant.
