Chapter 82

Educational Q&A

The passage teaches that sincere purification at a sacred tīrtha can yield extraordinary spiritual merit—comparable to major royal sacrifices—and that such merit is ethically framed as strengthening dharma and benefiting one’s lineage.

Ghūlastya addresses sages and a person named Ajasa, praising the sacred power of the Rudrakoṭi bathing-place: bathing there purifies a person, grants the fruit of the Aśvamedha, and is said to uplift the bather’s family line.
