एतदिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुं त्वत्त: सर्वमशेषत: । तत्त्वेन हि ममाचक्ष्व पृच्छन्त्या देवरूपिणीम्‌,“ब्रह्मन्‌! इस देवरूपिणी नारीके विषयमें यह सारा वृत्तान्त मैं पूर्णरूपसे सुनना चाहती हूँ। मैं जो कुछ पूछती हूँ, वह मुझे ठीक-ठीक बताओ”

etad icchāmy ahaṃ śrotuṃ tvattaḥ sarvam aśeṣataḥ | tattvena hi mamācakṣva pṛcchantyā devarūpiṇīm ||

Bṛhadaśva nói: “Ta muốn nghe từ ngươi toàn bộ chuyện ấy, trọn vẹn không bỏ sót. Hãy nói rõ sự thật cho ta, vì ta đang hỏi về người phụ nữ mang dáng vẻ thần linh ấy.”
