वसिष्ठ भग्वत्रिसमैस्तापसैरुपशोभितम् । नियतै: संयताहारैर्दमशैचसमन्वितै:,तथा वसिष्ठ, भूगु और अत्रिके समान नियम-परायण, मिताहारी तथा (शम,) दम, शौच आदिसे सम्पन्न तपस्वियोंसे वह शोभायमान हो रहा था
Vasiṣṭha-bhṛgv-atrī-samaiḥ tāpasair upaśobhitam | niyataiḥ saṁyatāhārair dama-śauca-samanvitaiḥ ||
Bṛhadaśva nói: “Nơi ấy rực rỡ nhờ các đạo sĩ sánh với Vasiṣṭha, Bhṛgu và Atri—những người nghiêm trì giới luật, tiết chế ăn uống, đầy đủ tự chế và thanh tịnh.”
बृहृदश्च उवाच
The verse presents ethical-spiritual excellence as disciplined living: regulated conduct (niyama), moderation in food (saṁyatāhāra), sense-control (dama), and purity (śauca). Such virtues, embodied by great sages, are what truly ‘adorn’ a sacred place.
Bṛhadaśva is describing a hermitage/holy setting whose beauty comes from the presence of eminent ascetics—likened to Vasiṣṭha, Bhṛgu, and Atri—whose austerity and moral discipline sanctify the environment.
