यच्चेक्षितासि विस्पष्टं विशेषेण मया शुभे । तच्च कारणपूर्व हि शृणु सत्यं शुचिस्मिते,'शुभे! पवित्र मुसकानवाली उर्वशी! मैंने जो उस समय सभामें तुम्हारी ओर एकटक दृष्टिसे देखा था, उसका एक विशेष कारण था, उसे सत्य बताता हूँ सुनो--

Transliteration

yac cekṣitāsi vispaṣṭaṁ viśeṣeṇa mayā śubhe | tac ca kāraṇapūrvaṁ hi śṛṇu satyaṁ śucismite ||

Translation

“Hỡi người cát tường, hỡi người có nụ cười trong sạch và dịu hiền: ánh nhìn chăm chú, rõ ràng của ta hướng về nàng—đằng sau đó có một nguyên do đặc biệt. Hãy nghe; ta sẽ nói sự thật, vì điều ấy phát sinh từ một cớ nhất định.”
