वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler’s dharma is validated not merely by power but by the broad, cross-generational trust of the people—city and countryside alike—who recognize and praise ethical conduct and steadiness.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana reports that Yudhiṣṭhira is widely praised by the populace—both urban citizens and rural inhabitants, including elders and children—highlighting his standing and moral authority.
