देवैरप्यापद: प्राप्ता#छन्नैश्व बहुशस्तथा । तत्र तत्र सपत्नानां निग्रहार्थ महात्मभि:,“महामना देवताओंको भी जहाँ-तहाँ शत्रुओंके निग्रहके लिये अनेक बार छिपकर रहना और विपत्तियोंको भोगना पड़ा है
devair apy āpadaḥ prāptāś channaiś ca bahuśas tathā | tatra tatra sapatnānāṁ nigrahārthaṁ mahātmabhiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Ngay cả chư thiên cũng từng gặp tai ương; và nhiều lần, để khuất phục kẻ thù, những bậc đại hồn ấy đã phải ẩn mình nơi này nơi khác và chịu đựng nghịch cảnh. Ý rằng: gian nan và sự ẩn náu theo mưu lược có thể là chính đáng, nếu nhằm kiềm chế thế lực thù nghịch và giữ gìn trật tự.
