अनागस: पितु: शापो ब्राह्मणस्य तथैव च । मन्निमित्त: कथं न स्यात्‌ क्रुद्धादस्माद्‌ विभावसो:,उसने सोचा कि “क्या उपाय करूँ? जिससे मेरे कारण मेरे निरपराध पिता तथा निर्दोष ब्राह्मणको क्रोधमें भरे हुए इन सूर्यदेवसे शाप न प्राप्त हो

anāgasaḥ pituḥ śāpo brāhmaṇasya tathaiva ca | man-nimittaḥ kathaṃ na syāt kruddhād asmād vibhāvasoḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: Nàng tự nhủ: “Ta phải làm sao để vì ta mà lời nguyền của Vibhāvasu (đấng rực lửa như Mặt Trời) đang nổi giận không giáng xuống người cha vô tội của ta, và cả vị bà-la-môn thanh sạch kia?” Thế rồi nàng nghĩ tìm phương kế để ngăn kẻ khác chịu phạt vì lỗi chẳng thuộc về họ, nêu bật sự cấp bách đạo đức trong việc tránh gây hại do chính mình can dự.
