Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes ethical governance through trust and truthful assurance: a king should be free from suspicion toward a virtuous guest, and a true Brahmin is characterized by straightforwardness (absence of vyalīka, deceit).

Vaiśampāyana reassures a king about a Brahmin staying in the royal household, affirming the Brahmin’s integrity and promising, as a truthful witness, that no deceit or morally troubling conduct will arise while he resides there.
