इष्टो भक्तश्न मे कर्णो न चान्यद् दैवतं दिवि | जानीत इति वै कृत्वा भगवानाह मद्धितम्,आपको यह मालूम है कि कर्ण मेरा प्रिय भक्त है और वह स्वर्गके दूसरे किसी भी देवताको (अपने इष्टरूपमें नहीं जानता है, यही समझकर आप मुझे मेरे हितका उपदेश कर रहे हैं
iṣṭo bhaktaś ca me karṇo na cānyad daivataṃ divi | jānīta iti vai kṛtvā bhagavān āha mad-dhitam |
“Ngài biết Karṇa là kẻ sùng kính thân thiết của Ngài, và chàng không nhận bất cứ vị thần nào khác trên cõi trời làm Đấng Chủ tể mà mình lựa chọn. Biết vậy, Đấng Thế Tôn đã nói với ta lời khuyên nhằm mưu cầu lợi ích cho ta.”
