Sūrya-stava: Dhaumya’s Counsel and the Aṣṭaśata-nāma of Sūrya
एतद् ब्रह्मा ददौ पूर्व शक्राय सुमहात्मने । शक्राच्च नारद: प्राप्तो धौम्यस्तु तदनन्तरम् | धौम्याद् युधिष्ठिर: प्राप्प सर्वान् कामानवाप्तवान्,यह स्तुति सबसे पहले ब्रह्माजीने महात्मा इन्द्रको दी, इन्द्रसे नारदजीने और नारदजीसे धौम्यने इसे प्राप्त किया। धौम्यसे इसका उपदेश पाकर राजा युधिष्ठिरने अपनी सब कामनाएँ प्राप्त कर लीं
etad brahmā dadau pūrvaṃ śakrāya sumahātmane | śakrāc ca nāradaḥ prāpto dhaumyastu tadanantaram | dhaumyād yudhiṣṭhiraḥ prāpya sarvān kāmān avāptavān ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Bài tán tụng này trước hết được Brahmā ban cho bậc đại hồn Śakra (Indra). Từ Śakra truyền đến Nārada, rồi sau đó đến Dhaumya. Nhờ nhận lời chỉ dạy từ Dhaumya, vua Yudhiṣṭhira đã đạt được sự viên mãn mọi ước nguyện chính đáng của mình.
