The verse emphasizes dharma through proper observance of prescribed rites: even in an ascetic forest setting, social and sacred obligations—here, marriage—are fulfilled by gathering qualified Brahmins and performing the ceremony according to vidhi (scriptural rule).
Dyumatsena narrates that all the Brahmins living in the hermitage were summoned, and the two kings arranged for Satyavān and Sāvitrī’s wedding to be solemnized properly through the traditional marriage ritual.
