Khi chư thiên tôn kính, cúng dường và ca tụng, Skanda—con của Kṛttikā—trước hết cúi đầu đảnh lễ Maheśvara (Śiva). Rồi Ngài rực rỡ huy hoàng như mặt trời chói lọi, tung tỏa muôn tia sáng về khắp bốn phương.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Even when one is celebrated and worshipped, true greatness is shown by first offering reverence to the higher principle (here, Skanda honoring Śiva). Glory (śrī/tejas) is portrayed as arising from humility and right devotion, not from mere acclaim.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes the gods worshipping Skanda. Skanda then salutes Maheśvara (Śiva), and his splendor is compared to the sun spreading its rays, emphasizing his divine radiance and auspicious presence.
