Guṇa-vibhāga and Prāṇa–Agni–Yoga Upadeśa (गुणविभाग तथा प्राण-अग्नि-योगोपदेश)
यस्तं महासुरं रौद्रं वधिष्यति महीपति: । तेजस्तं वैष्णवमिति प्रवेक्ष्यति दुरासदम्,भूपाल! भगवान् विष्णु अपने तेजसे आपके तेजको बढ़ायेंगे। उन्होंने पूर्वकालमें मुझे यह वर दिया था कि जो राजा उस भयानक एवं महान् असुरका वध करनेको उद्यत होगा, उस दुर्धर्ष वीरके भीतर मेरा वैष्णव तेज प्रवेश करेगा
yaḥ taṁ mahāsuraṁ raudraṁ vadhiṣyati mahīpatiḥ | tejas taṁ vaiṣṇavam iti pravekṣyati durāsadam, bhūpāla |
Uttaṅka nói: “Vị vua nào sẽ giết được con đại asura hung bạo ấy—hỡi bậc cai trị cõi đất—thì vào trong người anh hùng bất khả xâm phạm ấy, quang uy Vaiṣṇava sẽ nhập vào. Nhờ quyền năng của đức Viṣṇu, sức mạnh của bệ hạ sẽ được gia tăng. Thuở trước, Ngài đã ban cho ta ân huệ này: ai, với tư cách là vua, đứng lên để diệt trừ con quỷ dữ đáng sợ và hùng mạnh ấy, thì vào trong chiến sĩ đáng gờm đó, thần lực Vaiṣṇava của ta sẽ nhập vào.”
