ब्राह्मणानुयात्रा—शौनकोपदेशः

Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction

मतिमन्तो हातो वैद्या: शमं प्रागेव कुर्वते । मानसस्य प्रियाख्यानै: सम्भोगोपनयैर्नणाम्‌,“अतः बुद्धिमान्‌ तथा विद्दान्‌ पुरुष प्रिय वचन बोलकर तथा हितकर भोगोंकी प्राप्ति कराकर पहले मनुष्योंके मानसिक दुःखोंका ही निवारण किया करते हैं

matimanto hāto vaidyāḥ śamaṃ prāgev kurvate | mānasasya priyākhyānaiḥ sambhogopanayair nṛṇām ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Vì thế, những lương y khôn ngoan và tinh thông trước hết làm cho tâm được an. Bằng lời nói êm dịu, những câu chuyện làm vui lòng, và việc sắp đặt những thú hưởng lành mạnh cho con người, họ khởi đầu bằng cách xoa dịu nỗi khổ trong tâm.”
