ब्राह्मणानुयात्रा—शौनकोपदेशः

Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction

मनोदेहसमुत्थाभ्यां दुःखाभ्यामर्दितं जगत्‌ । तयोव्याससमासा भ्यां शमोपायमिमं शृणु,“सारा जगत्‌ मानसिक और शारीरिक दु:खोंसे पीडित है। उन दोनों प्रकारके दुःखोंकी शान्तिका यह उपाय संक्षेप और विस्तारसे सुनिये

manodehasamutthābhyāṃ duḥkhābhyām arditaṃ jagat | tayor vyāsasamāsābhyāṃ śamopāyam imaṃ śṛṇu |

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Cả thế gian bị giày vò bởi hai thứ khổ—khổ phát sinh từ tâm và khổ phát sinh từ thân. Nay hãy nghe phương cách dập yên chúng, được giảng cả vắn tắt lẫn đầy đủ.”
