The Account of the Slaying of Madhu and Kaiṭabha
तावतां गोसहस्राणां फल प्राप्रोति दायक: । यदेनो यौवनकृतं तत् सर्व नश्यते ध्रुवम्,जो प्रतिदिन अतिथियोंको देकर शेष अन्नसे ही भोजनका काम चलाता है, उसके अन्नके जितने ग्रास अतिथि ब्राह्मण नित्य भोजन करता है, उतने ही हजार गौओंके दानका पुण्य उस दाताको प्राप्त होता है, तथा उसके द्वारा युवावस्थामें जो पाप हुए होते हैं, वे सब निश्चय ही नष्ट हो जाते हैं
tāvatāṁ go-sahasrāṇāṁ phalaṁ prāpnoti dāyakaḥ | yad eno yauvana-kṛtaṁ tat sarvaṁ naśyate dhruvam ||
Baka nói: “Người bố thí nhận được công đức ngang với việc hiến tặng bấy nhiêu nghìn con bò. Và mọi tội lỗi đã gây trong tuổi trẻ—quả thật là tất cả—ắt chắc chắn tiêu tan.”
