युधिछिर उवाच यत् त्वयोक्तं द्विजश्रेष्ठ वाक्यं श्रुतिमनोहरम्,करिष्यामि हि तत् सर्वमुक्त यत् ते मयि प्रभो | युधिष्ठिरने कहा--द्विजश्रेष्ठ] आपने मुझे जो उपदेश दिया है, वह मेरे कानोंको मधुर एवं मनको प्रिय लगा है। विभो! मैं आपकी आज्ञाका यत्नपूर्वक पालन करूँगा। ब्राह्मणश्रेष्ठ। मेरे मनमें लोभ, भय और ईर्ष्या नहीं है। प्रभो! आपने मेरे लिये जो कहा है, इसका अवश्य पालन करूँगा
Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: yat tvayoktaṃ dvijaśreṣṭha vākyaṃ śrutimanoharam, kariṣyāmi hi tat sarvam uktaṃ yat te mayi prabho.
Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Bạch bậc tối thượng trong hàng Bà-la-môn, lời thầy dạy thật êm tai và đẹp lòng. Bạch đấng tôn quý, con nhất định sẽ thực hiện trọn vẹn mọi điều người đã truyền bảo.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse highlights receptivity to righteous instruction: Yudhiṣṭhira values counsel that is both pleasing and ethically sound, and he commits himself to faithfully carrying it out—an ideal of humility, discipline, and adherence to dharma.
In a dialogue within the Vana Parva, Yudhiṣṭhira responds to a Brahmin superior (a sage/teacher figure). He expresses that the instruction has impressed him and vows to follow it completely, signaling his readiness to act according to guidance.
