Nahūṣa-Ājagara Saṃvāda: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Definition of Brāhmaṇa and the ‘Vedyam’ Debate
The passage frames artha (material gain and prosperity) as a stated objective and presents decisive confrontation as a means to end a feud—highlighting a pragmatic, statecraft-oriented ethic where peace is sought through the resolution (even forceful) of hostility.
The speaker declares a strategic intent: to secure wealth and increase prosperity, and therefore to engage enemies directly so that the ongoing enmity may be pacified and brought to closure.
