इन्द्रस्य पाण्डवैः समागमः
Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
'धनेश्वर! तुम्हारे इस दुष्टात्मा सखाने मेरी अवहेलना करके तुम्हारे देखते-देखते जो मेरा इस प्रकार तिरस्कार किया है, उसके फलस्वरूप इन समस्त सैनिकोंके साथ यह एक मनुष्यके हाथसे मारा जायगा। तुम्हारी बुद्धि खोटी हो गयी है, अतः इन सब सैनिकोंके मारे जानेपर उनके लिये दुःख उठानेके पश्चात् तुम फिर उसी मनुष्यका दर्शन करके मेरे शाप एवं पापसे छुटकारा पा सकोगे ।। सैन्यानां तु तवैतेषां पुत्रपौत्रबलान्वितम् । न शापं प्राप्यते घोरं तत् तवाज्ञां करिष्यति,“इन सैनिकोंमेंसे जो तुम्हारी आज्ञाका पालन करेगा, वह पुत्र, पौत्र तथा सेनापर लागू होनेवाले इस भयंकर शापके प्रभावसे अलग रहेगा”
dhaneśvara! tvayā dṛṣṭvā dṛṣṭvā mamaivaṃ tiraskṛtaṃ duṣṭātmanā sakhyā avajñāya; tasya phalena eṣa ekaḥ puruṣaḥ sarvaiḥ sainyaiḥ saha ekasya puruṣasya hastena hataḥ bhaviṣyati. tava buddhiḥ khoṭī jātā; ataḥ sarveṣāṃ sainyānāṃ nihateṣu teṣāṃ kṛte duḥkham anubhūya punar eva taṃ puruṣaṃ darśayitvā mama śāpāt pāpāc ca vimokṣyase. sainyānāṃ tu tava eteṣāṃ putra-pautra-balānvitānāṃ yaḥ tava ājñāṃ kariṣyati sa ghoraṃ śāpaṃ na prāpsyati.
“Hỡi Dhaneśvara, Chúa Tể của Tài Bảo! Kẻ bạn hữu lòng dạ độc ác của ngài đã khinh mạn ta và sỉ nhục ta như thế ngay trước mắt ngài. Quả báo của việc ấy là: tên này sẽ bị giết bởi tay một người duy nhất, cùng với toàn bộ binh lính này. Trí xét đoán của ngài đã bị đảo lộn; vì vậy, sau khi chịu nỗi đau vì các binh sĩ này khi họ bị giết, ngài sẽ lại được thấy chính người ấy và được giải thoát khỏi lời nguyền của ta cùng khỏi tội lỗi. Tuy nhiên, trong số các đạo quân này—được tăng cường bởi con cháu và sức chiến đấu—ai vâng theo mệnh lệnh của ngài sẽ không bị chạm đến bởi lời nguyền khủng khiếp ấy.”
