अर्जुनागमनम्

Arjuna’s Arrival and Reunion on the Sacred Mountain

vilāsinībhir atyarthaṁ nṛtyantībhis samantataḥ | vāyunā dhūyamānābhis patākābhir alaṅkṛtam ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana nói: Tòa lâu đài được điểm trang khắp bốn phía bởi những apsaras yểu điệu, nhảy múa hết sức say sưa; còn những lá cờ phướn, bị gió lay khiến phấp phới, trở thành đồ trang sức của nó—một hình ảnh lóa mắt, gợi nên bầu không khí quyến rũ, trói buộc giác quan quanh cảnh tượng ấy.

Educational Q&A

The verse primarily paints a scene of opulence and sensory charm; ethically, such imagery often functions in the Mahābhārata as a reminder that dazzling pleasures can captivate the mind and become obstacles to steadiness, restraint, and dharmic clarity.

Vaiśaṃpāyana describes a splendid mansion: dancers perform all around, and wind-tossed banners decorate the building, emphasizing a festive, alluring atmosphere.
