न्यवारयत् तौ प्रहसन् कुन्तीपुत्रो वृकोदर: । शक्तोहं राक्षसस्येति प्रेक्षध्वमिति चाब्रवीत्,परंतु कुन्तीकुमार भीमसेनने हँसकर उन दोनोंको रोक दिया और कहा--“मैं अकेला ही इस राक्षसके लिये पर्याप्त हूँ। तुमलोग चुप-चाप देखते रहो”
nyavārayat tau prahasan kuntīputro vṛkodaraḥ | śakto'haṃ rākṣasasye'ti prekṣadhvam iti cābravīt ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Cười lớn, Bhīma—con của Kuntī, Vṛkodara “bụng sói”—giữ hai người lại và nói: “Một mình ta cũng đủ đối phó tên rākṣasa này. Các ngươi cứ im lặng mà xem.” Khoảnh khắc ấy làm nổi bật quyết tâm che chở và sự tự tin của Bhīma, khi chàng tự nhận lấy trách nhiệm để bảo vệ đồng hành khỏi hiểm nguy.
