लोके क्षीणे क्षयं यान्ति भावा लोकप्रवर्तका: । युगक्षयकृता धर्माः प्रार्थनानि विकुर्वते,लोकके क्षीण होनेपर उसके प्रवर्तक भावोंका भी क्षय हो जाता है। युग-क्षयजनित धर्म मनुष्यकी अभीष्ट कामनाओंके विपरीत फल देते हैं
loke kṣīṇe kṣayaṁ yānti bhāvā lokapravartakāḥ | yugakṣayakṛtā dharmāḥ prārthanāni vikurvate ||
Khi thế gian suy tàn, chính những xung lực và khuynh hướng khiến xã hội vận hành cũng héo úa. Và khi một thời đại đi đến tận cùng, những hình thức dharma bị nhào nặn bởi sự mục nát ấy làm méo mó khát vọng con người—ban cho kết quả trái ngược điều họ cầu mong.
