युगेष्वावर्तमानेषु धर्मो व्यावर्तते पुन: । धर्मे व्यावर्तमाने तु लोको व्यावर्तते पुन:,युगोंके परिवर्तन होनेपर आनेवाले युगोंके अनुसार धर्मका भी हास होता जाता है। इस प्रकार धर्मके क्षीण होनेसे लोक (की सुख-सुविधा)-का भी क्षय होने लगता है
yugeṣv āvartamāneṣu dharmo vyāvartate punaḥ | dharme vyāvartamāne tu loko vyāvartate punaḥ ||
Bhīma nói: “Khi các yuga xoay vần, nối tiếp nhau, dharma cũng ngoảnh đi—suy giảm theo đúng tính chất của thời đại đang đến. Và khi dharma suy giảm như thế, chính thế gian cũng lại suy tàn: trật tự, an lạc, cùng những điều kiện nuôi dưỡng đời sống con người đều hao hụt theo.”
