Arrogance, Boons, and Nimitta
स समिद्धे महत्यग्नौ शरीरमुपतापयन् । जनयामास संतापमिन्द्रस्य सुमहातपा:
sa samiddhe mahātyagnau śarīram upatāpayan | janayāmāsa santāpam indrasya sumahātapāḥ ||
Lomaśa nói: Khi vị đại khổ hạnh ấy nung thân mình trong ngọn lửa lớn rực cháy, ông đã làm dấy lên nỗi bức bách dữ dội trong lòng Indra—khổ hạnh của ông trở thành một sức mạnh khiến ngay cả chúa tể chư thiên cũng phải dao động. Sự việc ấy cho thấy tapas, khi được theo đuổi với ý chí không lay chuyển, sẽ tích tụ uy lực đạo đức và vũ trụ, buộc kẻ quyền thế phải lưu tâm đến mục đích và sự tự chế của bậc ẩn tu.
