Cyavana’s Reconciliation with Indra; Tīrtha-Indexing at Ārcīka-parvata and Yamunā
Chapter 125
शृज्भाणि त्रीणि पुण्यानि त्रीणि प्रस्रवणानि च । सर्वाण्यनुपरिक्रम्प यथाकाममुपस्पृश
śṛṅgāṇi trīṇi puṇyāni trīṇi prasravaṇāni ca | sarvāṇy anuparikramya yathākāmam upaspṛśa, yudhiṣṭhira! |
Lomāśa nói: “Hỡi Yudhiṣṭhira, nơi đây có ba đỉnh núi thiêng và ba mạch suối thánh. Hãy nhiễu quanh tất cả theo đúng trật tự, tùy theo ý muốn, rồi hãy tắm gội (làm lễ tẩy rửa) theo điều ngươi ước.”
लोगमश उवाच
The verse emphasizes dharmic pilgrimage practice: respectfully circumambulating sacred sites and performing ritual bathing for purification, cultivating reverence and inner discipline rather than mere travel.
Lomaśa guides Yudhiṣṭhira during the Pāṇḍavas’ forest pilgrimage, pointing out a cluster of holy natural features—three peaks and three springs—and instructing him to circumambulate them and bathe.
