सा दृष्टवा पाण्डवांस्तत्र सुप्तान् मात्रा सह क्षितौ । हृच्छयेनाभिभूतात्मा भीमसेनमकामयत्,मातासहित पाण्डवोंको वहाँ धरतीपर सोते देख कामसे पीड़ित हो उस राक्षसीने भीमसेनकी कामना की
sā dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍavāṁs tatra suptān mātrā saha kṣitau | hṛcchayenābhibhūtātmā bhīmasenam akāmayat ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Thấy các Pāṇḍava đang ngủ trên mặt đất cùng với mẹ, nữ rākṣasī ấy—tâm trí bị dục vọng lấn át—bỗng khởi lòng khao khát Bhīmasena.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores that kāma (desire) can overpower the mind and push one toward actions that ignore propriety and others’ welfare; it implicitly points to the need for restraint and discernment before acting on impulse.
A rākṣasī sees the Pāṇḍavas asleep on the ground with their mother and, seized by desire, becomes attracted specifically to Bhīma—an event that leads into the ensuing encounter between the rākṣasas and the Pāṇḍavas.
