अहापयन् पाण्डवार्थ यथाव- च्छमं कुरूणां यदि चाचरेयम् | पुण्यं च मे स्थाच्चरितं महात्मन् मुच्येरंश्न कुरवो मृत्युपाशात्
apāyan pāṇḍavārthaṃ yathāvacchamaṃ kurūṇāṃ yadi cācareyam | puṇyaṃ ca me syāc caritaṃ mahātman mucyeran kuravo mṛtyupāśāt ||
Hỡi bậc đại hồn! Nếu ta có thể hành xử sao cho quyền lợi chính đáng của Pāṇḍava không bị ngăn trở, và có thể lập nên một nền hòa bình thích đáng giữa Kuru và Pāṇḍava theo lẽ phải, thì việc làm ấy của ta sẽ thành một công đức lớn. Và các Kuru cũng sẽ được tháo khỏi thòng lọng tử thần.
