Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition

शमं वै याचमानस्त्वं नाधर्म तत्र लप्स्यसे । कुरून्‌ विगर्हयिष्यन्ति धृतराष्ट्र च पार्थिवा:,वहाँ शान्तिके लिये याचना करनेपर आप अधर्मके भी भागी न होंगे। सब राजा कौरवोंकी तथा धृतराष्ट्रकी ही निन्‍्दा करेंगे

śamaṃ vai yācamānas tvaṃ nādharmaṃ tatra lapsyase | kurūn vigarhayiṣyanti dhṛtarāṣṭraṃ ca pārthivāḥ ||

Nếu ngài cầu hòa và khẩn xin sự hòa giải, ngài sẽ không vì thế mà mang phần nào của bất nghĩa. Trái lại, các vua chúa sẽ lên án nhà Kuru—và cả Dhṛtarāṣṭra nữa—vì đã khước từ điều công chính.
