Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Arjuna’s Strategic Supremacy
महान् स्यात् संशयो लोके न त्वस्ति विजयो मम । घृणी कर्ण: प्रमादी च आचार्य: स्थविरो गुरु:
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | mahān syāt saṁśayo loke na tv asti vijayo mama | ghṛṇī karṇaḥ pramādī ca ācāryaḥ sthaviro guruḥ ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra nói: “Trong đời sẽ dấy lên mối nghi ngờ lớn, còn với ta thì chẳng có chiến thắng. Dẫu Karṇa—nhân hậu nhưng hay sơ suất—và bậc Thầy Droṇa—tuổi đã cao, lại là chính sư phụ của Arjuna—có tiến lên đối mặt Arjuna, ta vẫn thấy sự bất định nặng nề về việc khuất phục chàng. Quả thật, ta không thấy một thắng lợi chắc chắn cho phe ta.”
