yatate cāpavādāya yatnam ārabhate kṣaye

Translation

Vidura nói: “Con người ta gắng sức để chuốc lấy lời chê trách, và chỉ khởi công về phía suy vong.” Trong khuôn khổ đạo lý của lời răn Vidura, câu này lên án tham vọng tự hủy—những hành động do phán đoán sai lầm, mời gọi sự khiển trách của công luận và kết thúc bằng tổn thất chứ không phải an lạc.
