भीष्मकृतः पाण्डवपक्ष-महारथ-प्रशंसा
Bhishma’s appraisal of Pandava-aligned chariot-warriors
एष नैव रथ: कर्णो न चाप्यतिरथो रणे | वियुक्त: कवचेनैष सहजेन विचेतन:
eṣa naiva rathaḥ karṇo na cāpy atiratho raṇe | viyuktaḥ kavacenaiṣa sahajena vicetanaḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Karna này, thực ra, nay chẳng còn xứng gọi là một chiến sĩ xa chiến, huống chi là bậc ‘đại dũng’ trên chiến địa. Bị tước mất giáp bẩm sinh, hắn trở nên mê muội. Theo phán đoán của ta, khi đã mất những phương tiện làm nên thắng lợi, hắn sa xuống hàng ‘nửa chiến sĩ’; và khi đối mặt Arjuna, hắn sẽ không thoát chết.”
