Educational Q&A

The verse upholds the ideal of kingship grounded in dharma: a ruler’s true greatness lies in comprehensive knowledge of righteous duty and in protecting the earth, earning lasting renown through ethical governance.

Vāyudeva continues a genealogical and moral description of an ancestral king, identifying Pratīpa—his father’s grandfather—as a celebrated, dharma-knowing ruler whose fame extends across the three worlds.
