Gālava’s Eastern Ascent with Garuḍa; Counsel on Kāla and Upāya (उद्योगपर्व, अध्याय ११०)

अत्र कामश्न रोषश्व शैलश्लोमा च सम्बभु: | यहीं पार्वतीदेवीने भगवान्‌ महेश्वरको पतिरूपमें प्राप्त करनेके लिये कठोर तपस्या की थी और इसी दिशामें महादेवजीको मोहित करनेके लिये काम प्रकट हुआ। फिर उसके ऊपर भगवान्‌ शंकरका क्रोध हुआ। उस अवसरपर गिरिराज हिमालय और उमा भी वहाँ विद्यमान थीं (इस प्रकार ये सब लोग वहाँ एक ही समयमें प्रकाशित हुए)

atra kāmaś ca roṣaś ca śailaślomā ca sambabhūvaḥ |

Tại đây, Kāma (Dục vọng) và Roṣa (Phẫn nộ) đã hiển lộ, và Śailaślomā cũng xuất hiện. Chính nơi này là chốn Nữ thần Pārvatī từng tu khổ hạnh nghiêm khắc để được Đức Maheśvara làm phu quân; cũng theo phương ấy, Kāma nổi lên nhằm mê hoặc Mahādeva, rồi cơn thịnh nộ của Śaṅkara giáng xuống hắn.
