गालवस्य विषादः तथा विष्णुप्रयाणम्
Gālava’s Despair and Resolve to Seek Viṣṇu
गालवकी सेवा-शुश्रूषासे भगवान् विश्वामित्र उनके वशमें हो गये थे। अतः उनके उपकारको समझते हुए विश्वामित्रने उनसे बार-बार कहा--'जाओ, जाओ! ।।
asakṛd gaccha gaccheti viśvāmitreṇa bhāṣitaḥ | kiṁ dadānīti bahuśo gālavaḥ pratyabhāṣata ||
Dẫu Viśvāmitra đã nhiều lần bảo: “Đi đi!”, Gālava vẫn hết lần này đến lần khác đáp lại với lòng khiêm cung khẩn thiết: “Con phải dâng gì làm guru-dakṣiṇā?”—tìm một lễ tạ thầy xứng đáng, quyết không rời bước khi chưa tỏ bày trọn vẹn món nợ của sự phụng sự và giáo huấn.
