Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 2 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry for His Kin and the Vision of a Punitive Realm
The verse highlights that sincere śraddhā (faithful conviction) becomes a legitimate ground for action, and that divine agents present themselves as working for the devotee’s good while remaining bound to a higher order (Indra’s command). It frames guidance as both compassionate and duty-bound.
In Svargarohana, the gods address Yudhiṣṭhira and urge him to proceed without delay if his faith is directed toward those he seeks. They reassure him that their actions aim at what is dear to him, carried out under the authority of Indra.
