Shloka 22

धृतराष्ट्रस्य उपालम्भः तथा पाण्डव-समाश्वासनम् | Dhṛtarāṣṭra Reproved and the Pāṇḍavas Consoled

त॑ विदित्वा गतक्रोधं भीमसेनवधार्दितम्‌ । वासुदेवो वर: पुंसामिदं वचनमत्रवीत्‌

taṁ viditvā gatakrodhaṁ bhīmasenavadhārditam | vāsudevo varaḥ puṁsām idaṁ vacanam abravīt ||

Thấy ông—cơn giận đã tắt, nhưng vẫn chấn động vì cái chết của Bhīmasena—Vāsudeva, bậc tối thượng trong hàng người, cất lời như sau. Mạch truyện đặt ra khoảnh khắc khi sầu đau và dư chấn của bạo lực thay thế phẫn nộ, mở đường cho lời khuyên về tự chế và chính hạnh giữa cảnh tàn phá của chiến tranh.
