Chapter 81: Trust, Allies, and the Qualifications of the King’s Artha-Secretary (अर्थसचिव)
यस्तु वृद्धया न तृप्येत क्षये दीनतरो भवेत् । एतदुत्तममित्रस्य निमित्तमिति चक्षते
yas tu vṛddhyā na tṛpyet kṣaye dīnataraḥ bhavet | etad uttamam itrasya nimittam iti cakṣate ||
Bhīṣma nói: Người nào không bao giờ thỏa lòng dù bạn mình đang hưng thịnh, luôn mong bạn còn thăng tiến hơn nữa, và khi suy giảm đến thì buồn khổ đến cùng cực—người ta nói đó là dấu hiệu tối thượng để nhận ra một “người bạn ưu tú”, kẻ đặt trọn lòng mình vào phúc lợi của bạn.
