Chapter 81: Trust, Allies, and the Qualifications of the King’s Artha-Secretary (अर्थसचिव)
एकान्तेन हि विश्वास: कृत्स्नो धर्मार्थनाशक: । अविश्वासश्च सर्वत्र मृत्युना च विशिष्यते
ekāntena hi viśvāsaḥ kṛtsno dharmārthanāśakaḥ | aviśvāsaś ca sarvatra mṛtyunā ca viśiṣyate ||
Bhishma nói: “Niềm tin tuyệt đối đặt vào một người có thể phá hủy trọn vẹn cả dharma lẫn lợi ích vật chất. Nhưng nghi kỵ tất cả, trong mọi hoàn cảnh, còn tệ hơn—tai hại hơn cả cái chết. Vì thế, bậc trí giả đi theo con đường trung dung giữa tin mù quáng và ngờ vực bao trùm.”
