Varṇāśrama-ācāra and Vikarma: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry on Safe Dharmas (शिवधर्मप्रश्नः)
सत्यार्जवं चातिथिपूजनं च धर्मस्तथार्थश्ष रति: स्वदारै: | निषेवितव्यानि सुखानि लोके हास्मिन् परे चैव मतं ममैतत्
satyārjavaṃ cātithipūjanaṃ ca dharmas tathārthaś ca ratiḥ svadāraiḥ | niṣevitavyāni sukhāni loke hāsmin pare caiva mataṃ mamaitat ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Chân thật và ngay thẳng, kính trọng và tiếp đãi khách, theo đuổi dharma và artha, cùng với tình yêu chung thủy dành cho chính người vợ của mình—đó là những niềm vui chính đáng mà người gia chủ phải vun bồi trong đời này. Khi thực hành như vậy, hạnh phúc sẽ có ở đây và cả ở đời sau; đó là ý kiến đã được ta cân nhắc.”
