राजधर्मप्रश्नः — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry into Rājadharma (Śānti-parva 56)
आदावेव कुरुश्रेष्ठ राज्ञा रञज्जनकाम्यया । देवतानां द्विजानां च वर्तितव्यं यथाविधि
ādāveva kuruśreṣṭha rājñā rañjanakāmyayā | devatānāṃ dvijānāṃ ca vartitavyaṃ yathāvidhi ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc ưu tú của dòng Kuru, ngay từ thuở ban đầu, một vị vua—với ước nguyện làm vui lòng và chiếm được lòng dân—phải cư xử theo đúng phép tắc kinh điển đối với chư thiên và hàng ‘nhị sinh’ (dvija): phụng thờ thần linh đúng nghi lễ và kính trọng, nâng đỡ các Bà-la-môn một cách xứng đáng.”
