जज्ञुश्वैव महात्मानस्ततस्तं ज्ञानचक्षुषा । ब्राह्मणा वेदविद्वांसस्तपोभिविमलीकृता:,उन वेदवेत्ता ब्राह्मणोंका अन्त:ःकरण तपस्यासे निर्मल हो गया था। उन महात्माओंने ज्ञानदृष्टिसे उस राक्षसको पहचान लिया

jajñuś caiva mahātmānas tatas taṁ jñānacakṣuṣā | brāhmaṇā vedavidvāṁsas tapobhir vimalīkṛtāḥ ||

Bấy giờ các Bà-la-môn đại tâm—thông suốt Veda và được thanh tịnh nhờ khổ hạnh—đã nhận ra hắn bằng con mắt trí tuệ. Sự trong sáng nội tâm, được gọt giũa bởi tapas, khiến họ phân biệt được bản tánh chân thật của kẻ đang đứng trước mặt.
